Standards are not curriculum, but expectations of what students should know and be able to do at each grade level. HIDOE COVID-19 Information and Updates

HawaiiPay

The HawaiiPay project is led by the Dept. of Accounting and General Services in partnership with the Office of Enterprise Technology Services to modernize payroll and time & attendance systems serving roughly 63,000 full- and part-time employees statewide.

Substitute teacher reporting system

The Department uses a digital accounting system — The Teacher-Substitute Employee Automated System (TSEAS) — for schools to report, update and/or cancel teacher absences, which send automatic notifications to registered substitutes to alert them of work opportunities.

Home-schooling

The Department has a legitimate interest in and responsibility for the appropriate education of all school age children in the State of Hawaii and recognizes home-schooling as an alternative to compulsory school attendance. Home-schooling is a parent-initiated educational alternative.
